Why I absolutely adore being a homemaker

I've been a stay-at-home fiancée for nearly one and a half years now, and it's, so far, been the most fun years of my life!

Please note that this is not meant to put down women who choose to work outside the home, I do support that!

So here's just a few of the reasons I love being a housewife.

• Supporting my darling

As a homemaker, my biggest honor and privilege is to lovingly serve my fiancé. Because I don't work outside the home, I can fully step into my role as a partner and focus fully on spending the most time with him. And most importantly, having a loving helper motivates him to be the best worker he can be!

• Sleeping in

One of the things I love most about being a homemaker is that I don't have a morning alarm set, I can sleep in until however long I feel I need that day.

• Slow mornings

Slow mornings and slow living are totally the way to go! It is so beautiful to be able to wake up, have my breakfast leisurely, and make my bed while listening to music without a care in the world!

• Having more time for the gym

I love working out, and it's so pleasurable to be able to go to the gym whenever I want to, and work out without worrying about being late to go home.

• Wearing clothes I am comfortable in

Many workplaces have some sort of dress code, such as wearing high heels or stuffy suits, but as a homemaker I can wear comfy silk pyjamas and bunny slippers all day!

• Being as creative as I want

A big part of being a homemaker is unleashing your creativity. If I was an employee, I would not be allowed to be creative. If I was a chef, I wouldn't be able to choose to cook one of my clients lasagna if they requested spaghetti Bolognese. But as a homemaker, I am completely at liberty to do whatever I want. I can decide to try a new recipe at random, I can decide to bake a batch of cookies and decorate them however I wish. My curiosity is endless!

• Eating lunch without a countdown

Many workplaces have a set time limit on how long their employees can spend on lunch, usually ranging from thirty minutes to an hour. A homemaker has no such limitations, I can take my lunch however long I wish, I can watch an entire movie if I want to! There is no time limit!

• Having more time for my hobbies

I have tons of wonderful hobbies I can engage in due to having more leisure time as a stay at home fiancée. I loving playing videogames on my PC or on my Nintendo switch. I love watching movies on Netflix and anime on Crunchyroll. I love reading novels, and comics on webtoon. I love spending time with my friends, but I wouldn't have as much time to do these hobbies if I had a forty hour work week.

• Cooking delicious and nutritious meals

I love cooking! Cooking slowly in the comfort of your home with music playing is the most relaxing thing ever! I also get to make wonderful homemade meals instead of ordering food out of tiredness.

• Planning my homemaking around my cycle

This is one of the biggest reasons I love being a homemaker. As a woman, my needs and my hormone cycle are different from men's. I need more time to rest, especially during the luteal and menstrual phases of my cycle, and I can get more done in the ovulation and follicular phases. I can take more naps, sleep in more, and do my homemaking slower when I need to.
